About the Fields Division

ASBA represents companies actively engaged in the building of synthetic and natural grass sports fields. The Association also represents designers of such fields and suppliers of related materials. A majority of field builders also install tracks and synthetic track surfaces as part of a project scope of work.

The Association was founded in 1965 as the US Tennis Court & Track Builders Association (USTC&TBA) by a group of contractors who recognized the need for an organization that could help them address their mutual problems, set industry standards and keep them informed on issues pertinent to their business. Its name was changed to American Sports Builders Association in 2004 to incorporate the addition of both natural grass and synthetic turf fields reflecting the expanded range of work performed by its members.
