My First ASBA Conference and What I Learned

The show was a great 3 days for our organization and for me personally.  We started by having a cocktail hour at the Famed and Beautiful USTA center in Orlando, not far from the hotel.  I also met the designer and the company that built it so it was more than just a venue but clearly identified with ASBA Core Values which unite and brings their members together from all over the United States.

ASBA has a very welcoming community – the programming was very insightful and the community members were friendly and shared their passion for sports building and how to do right!  I was able to meet many exhibitors – this gave us an opportunity to build out our line card as well as meet some vendor partners we have never met face to face previously.  I was also lucky to meet a couple of the past presidents that help successfully build the ASBA community.  I observed ASBA members were proud of their community and were definitely invested in meeting new members and growing the organization of qualified builders and partners.

Some of the highlights I enjoyed was the keynote with Chip Eichelberger, that focused on business and personal growth, the intensive learning  tracks that really drilled down on Court Building Best Practices and to meet all of the exhibitors and be able to review their product lines in person.  Also, Orlando had Great Jerk Chicken – who knew?

Since the show concluded - I have reached out to many of the exhibitors; requesting samples to share with my customers, working on selling some new products and evaluating others.  I have also connected with a few members to explore complimentary synergies.

Thank you to all the Sports Builders and ASBA for a great conference.  I am already looking forward to the 2020 National Show along with the Regional Events!!
