ASBA Taking Center Court at Racquet & Paddle Sports Show

When the Racquet & Paddle Sports Show returns for 2020, ASBA will play a big role.

The event, to take place January 22-24 in Orlando, will include industry leaders who will share insights. One of those is Fred Stringfellow, ASBA’s executive director.

Stringfellow will be part of a panel on “The Future of Pickleball.” Pickleball, one of the fastest-growing sports in the U.S., has brought increased use of court facilities, both private and public, as well as an awareness of the need to have quality construction of new facilities.

The popularity of pickleball has also resulted in builders learning the proper dimensions of courts in order to be able to install appropriate lines on existing courts, as well as to the creation of equipment such as pickleball nets that can be set up and dismantled easily to allow for play in various locations.

The program, presented in a panel discussion format, will also include Dan Santorum, CEO of the Professional Tennis Registry and Professional Pickleball Registry, and George Bauernfeind, Managing Director, Marketing & Communications of the USA Pickleball Association.

The Racquet & Paddle Sports Show will begin with hands-on product testing at Demo Day: Lake Nona Experience, at the USTA National Campus, on Jan. 21. The Show Floor, open Jan. 22-24 and co-located with the PGA Merchandise Show at the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC), will feature more than 100 comprehensive exhibits, a multi-use court demonstrations, table tennis tournament, complimentary industry presentations and an extensive educational programming, including the Tennis Owners & Managers (TOM) Conference and the Complimentary Regional Education Day (Jan. 22) presented by the USTA Florida, USPTA Florida and RacquetFit.
