Preparing for the Examination

ASBA offers construction manuals which are the principal references for questions on the examination. Technical articles in Newsline, presentations from recent Technical Meetings and real-world experience also will be helpful.

Because of the amount of computation and the number of formulas inherent in track and field construction, the examination for track and field builders is an open book test. Applicants may refer to ASBA manuals or to other notes or publications during the examination. Applicants should bring their own copies of these materials to the test. No reference materials are permitted to applicants for the tennis certification examination. See the certification handbook for more information about preparing and taking the exam.

Certified Builder Program: Policies, Standards of Conduct and Bid Language

ASBA has approved new Certified Builder Standards of Conduct and have proposed bid language samples that can be used as needed by our Certified Builders or design professionals creating job specifications. Our certification policies and Standards of Conduct help to reinforce the integrity of ASBA’s certified builder programs and their importance in the marketplace.
