About the Courts & Recreation Division
ASBA represents companies actively engaged in the building of indoor and outdoor sport courts and facilities, both residential and commercial. Our primary focus is on the construction and installation of indoor and outdoor courts used for "court sports" such as basketball, volleyball, pickleball and multi-purpose fitness and recreational areas. The Association also represents designers of such facilities and suppliers of related materials.

The Association was founded in 1965 as the US Tennis Court & Track Builders Association (USTC&TBA) by a group of contractors who recognized the need for an organization that could help them address their mutual problems, set industry standards and keep them informed on issues pertinent to their business. Its name was changed to American Sports Builders Association in 2004 to reflect the broad range of work performed by its members.
