To create a level and collaborative platform for all to unify/organize, educate, and build for the present and future that promotes Indoor Sports flooring.
Goal
Create a networking/advocacy community that allows all to present, educate and champion our indoor sports flooring industry while giving back to our members and community.
Why ASBA?
Allows us to join an existing association that already champions communication, networking, education, and the crossroads platform to help diversify our members. ASBA’s mission to “Build it Right” rings true for all of us.
The world has changed dramatically over the past three years. Businesses have had both incredible challenges and incredible opportunities during this volatile time. It is now more important than ever to establish a group of professionals to collaborate
together to push our industry forward into the next generation.
The American Sports Builders Association’s Sports Flooring Summit is scheduled for December 3-6 in Orlando, Florida. This Summit hopes to create a
recurring opportunity for all Sport Flooring professionals to thrive through fun, dynamic content in a non-threatening environment.
This is your chance to participate in an association and help direct the future of Sports Flooring.
Every new member has the same opportunity within the organization. It is a group that collaborates at the grassroots level, meaning there is no hierarchy in content planning and the future development of professional advancement.
Our industry is comprised of consumers, builders, architects, designers, specifiers/influencers, contractors, suppliers and others who use and benefit from indoor sports flooring. We champion and increase the indoor sports flooring market share
by developing education and marketing that are self-serving to our members and the Indoor Sports Flooring industry. We foster interaction among all engaged with our Sports Flooring industry to create, establish and maintain harmonious, friendly
networking for the benefit of our industry.
We require a robust code of professional business standards and ethics relating to the Sports flooring and the end users of our products and services. We sponsor education and promote hands-on
training and mentoring, all while providing the general public peace of mind in the area of care/maintenance of our sports floors.
ASBA is pleased to announce its first annual indoor flooring meeting and educational event in Chattanooga, TN. Registration for ASBA members and non-members is $199. Registration is restricted to a maximum of 50 participants, with
each company eligible to register only two individuals.
This training covers crucial topics including concrete surface preparation and vinyl sports flooring installation techniques, ensuring you gain the expertise needed for successful projects.
Make sure you don't miss the opportunity to access advanced information and benefit from exclusive member pricing for the Indoor Sports Surfaces Summit, taking place alongside ASBA's Technical Meeting in Orlando, Florida from December
2-6, 2024.
I have been traveling North America talking to gym floor gurus all over America, and we are an exciting breed that busts our butts each day. We make it happen so the athletes can perform on the floors without harm. In small towns,
the gym is where you define community….And why shouldn’t the floor look the best it can and give that village a sense of pride?
Whether in Alaska dealing with frozen finish or in Florida calculating your board expansion
spacing…
We all have one goal: to turn out the best-looking floor to return to the local watering hole and brag about. Oh, show the pictures, share the story of the challenges we had to overcome, and beam with pride as we
talk about it.
Why shouldn’t we have our group?!…most importantly, for me, it allows like-minded individuals a place where we can talk and share and learn from each other because when the money is gone, the memories
and the friendships we have created are what elevates and keeps me sane and allows for a sense of belonging. After living through the pandemic, we all agree that we need a sense of belonging and community when the day is done.

Lord of Wood
There is a large number of individuals that participate in our sports flooring market who have no outlet for sport flooring specific networking, continuing education and leadership opportunities. ASBA offers the perfect platform for
the inclusion of all sport flooring professionals. This includes manufacturers of wood, finish, equipment and other supplies; dealers, subcontractors, distributors and other professional organizations. All of these organizations
would have the same opportunities to lead and contribute.

“You don’t understand anything until you learn it more than one way." — Marvin Minsky
This quote means the world to me. In my 34 years of working in this industry, I have learned so much by working with other men and
women in our trade. Whether it was in the sport wood flooring, residential wood flooring, sport vinyl, carpet, tile or etc. I have taken a piece from every one of them and incorporated the knowledge into what I do today. I
learned at a young age to watch and listen to my peers so I can use that knowledge to have a successful business and projects.
Today, I still practice that with everything I do. So, with participation in this association
we are all trying to get off the ground, I look forward to learning new ways to even become better at what we all do. Everyone you will ever meet knows something you don’t.
I am excited to work with all of you to
create something for our future craftsmen/women to learn from.

Western Sport Floors
It has been our experience over the 30+ years we have been in the sports flooring market that there are a lot of good contractors out there. The problem is we all seem to be on our own little island, trying to tackle the sports
flooring contractor’s world all alone. In the past year we have met with likeminded sports flooring contractors working on a plan to rectify this issue and connect all those “islands”. We feel an Indoor Sports Flooring Division
within ASBA will make this dream a reality. Let’s all work together to make our already great industry better.
